Alumni Women’s Luncheon Celebrates Art and Community
Marist School’s Alumni Women’s Luncheon took place on Wednesday, April 17 at the Urban Art Collective in Chamblee, Georgia. The annual luncheon fosters connections among female Marist graduates and provides a platform for them to reminisce and forge new bonds. This year's event celebrated the achievements of artist and small business owner Christy Taylor Holmes from the Class of 1987. Holmes’ artistic endeavor, 3rd Quarter Studio, is located within Urban Art Collective, where she creates mixed media paintings. Holmes welcomed fellow Marist alumni to her gallery and shared insights into her creative and professional journey since her days at Marist.
Faith, Fun & "Free Bird": Marist Celebrates St. Peter Chanel Day
Marist School celebrated St. Peter Chanel Day on Thursday, April 25, an event deeply embedded in the school's history and cherished traditions. The day-long celebration has become a hallmark of the Marist experience for many students. While many may look forward to the time spent outside of the classroom socializing with friends, playing games, and listening to live music from the student bands, the morning begins with a Mass to remind all gathered of the reason for the festivities. The occasion pays homage to St. Peter Chanel, the first Marist saint martyred on the island of Futuna, whose selfless dedication to Christ serves as an inspiration.
Love and Legacy at Center of Marist Grandparents Day
On Friday, April 19, Marist School buzzed with joy and activity as over 500 grandparents visited campus for the much-anticipated biennial Grandparents Day. This special day is not just a celebration of family, but a reaffirmation of the enduring values of love, legacy, and community that define Marist School.
MacGinnitie Award-Winning Faculty Drive Innovation at Marist School
The prestigious MacGinnitie Award for Innovation was established in 2006 by Barbara and Jim MacGinnitie to provide recognition and professional enrichment opportunities to a Marist School faculty member, teaching or non-teaching, whose initiative and innovation have made a recognizable difference in the education program, the delivery of critical services, the school's standing in the community, and/or fidelity to the mission. Nominations and selections are driven by peer recognition, with recipients receiving not only accolades but also professional development opportunities and a stipend.
The award complements Marist’s endeavor to provide a vibrant educational experience, where innovation meets tradition in a blend of cutting-edge technology and time-honored pedagogy. Marist’s dedicated faculty lead the charge in preparing students to become compassionate servant leaders equipped to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
Marist School is proud to announce the addition of Selena Patterson as the softball coach for the 2024 season. Coach Patterson has spent the past four years as the varsity head coach at Pace Academy, where she amassed 61 wins. She joins a Marist team that set a school record for home runs in 2023 and reached the final game of a super-regional.
Marist Madness 2024: Elevating Athletic Excellence Through Community Support
On March 23, Marist School’s Booster Club transformed Young Gym in Centennial Center into a hub of fellowship and entertainment for its biennial Marist Madness celebration. Attendees were treated to an unforgettable evening of camaraderie while raising support for Marist’s 15 sports programs, training room, and weight room.

Blue & Gold Athletics Circle Recipients Named for 2023
Marist School has named 10 alumni to be inducted into its Blue & Gold Athletics Circle, which was established in 2003 to honor those who have made outstanding contributions to Marist School Athletics. Additionally, two individuals will receive the Blue & Gold Athletics Service Award.
